Bringing new life to an old language, The Yiddish Book Center has at its core activity the rescue of Yiddish and other modern Jewish books, opening their content to the world.
Their bi-annual publication Pakn Treger (roughly translated, a wandering book peddler who traveled from shtetl to shtetl in Eastern Europe bringing books and news of the outside world). I had the pleasure of designing three editions and working alongside illustrators and photographers to bring each page, story, and the Center’s mission to life.
